Compounded Stigma, Compounded Harm:
Fatness & Neurodivergence
About this course:
For fat neurodivergent clients, the world doesn’t just reject their bodies, it rejects their minds too. Intersectionality teaches us that marginalization is not only additive but compounding. Too often, clinical practice fails to see the whole person, treating weight and neurotype as separate issues rather than interconnected realities. This workshop is for clinicians who are ready to see the full picture. Explore how anti-fatness and ableism intersect to shape the experiences of fat neurodivergent clients in healthcare, in relationships, and in the therapy room. We’ll examine how the dual pathologizing of both fat bodies and neurodivergent minds leads to compounded harm.
