Perinatal Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
About this course:
Perinatal obsessive-compulsive disorder is more common than most realize, yet there is very limited research on the disorder. The lack of information around perinatal OCD is problematic and can have detrimental consequences. This course will equip participants with knowledge and tools to differentiate perinatal OCD from other perinatal disorders like anxiety, depression and psychosis. Course topics include statistics, possible risks and causes, and specific OCD themes that show up in pregnancy and postpartum. Participants will learn which tools are best to use to assess and the challenges around assessing for perinatal OCD and the impacts of mis or under diagnosing. There will be case examples and education on treatment planning.
